Meeting began at 2:00
p.m. in the administration center

Members present
included: John Frieden, Rick Loy, Pete
Nyman, Sue Reading, Kay Ingham, Scott McKissick, Tom Berg and Jay Marino
Objective: This group will plan academic, intervention and enrichment
opportunities for students. A strategic
plan will be formulated with input from the committee addressing the
following:

Which students
are eligible to participate in programs?
·
What will be
the goals/objectives of the activities and programs offered to students?
·
When and where
will the activities take place?
·
What will be
the format of the activities?
·
Who will staff
and supervise the activities?
·
How will the
impact of the activities be measured and evaluated?
$1,500- Stipends for Saturday Academy/intervention/intersession training
$22,000- Teacher salaries for K-6 Saturday Academy, intervention, intersession
$12,000- Teacher salaries for 7-12 Saturday Academy/intervention/intersession
$10,500- Teacher salaries for K-6 Saturday Academy/intervention/intersession
$13,000- Supplies for K-6 Saturday Academy/intervention/intersession
$40,000- Academic Intervention

Next meeting scheduled for Friday, November 2nd
@ 1:00 p.m. in Room 23 of the Administration Center.

Next steps for the committee include:
o Reviewing
the vision for an effective intervention program
o Creating
and designing a model program based on the agreed upon vision
o Create an
action plan to create a pilot program to be implemented after January 1, 2002
answering the following: who, what, where, when and how?
o Plan a
quality improvement cycle adhering to Plan, Do, Study, Act to plan future
intervention programming for students.
