Electronic School Improvement Plan (SIP) Template Now Online!

It's finally here... an electronic SIP template and dashboard that incorporate Baldrige criteria!  At last Friday's Leadership meeting, the new SIP template was briefly reviewed.  To view the components of the new SIP format that will be used and other links and resources to school improvement, visit our site at --> http://curriculum.risd41.org/admin/school_improvement/school_improvement.htm .  More information, demonstrations and discussions are being scheduled for future meetings.  Please take some time to review the documents and send your feedback (as these documents are only in "DRAFT" format).  You comments are necessary to create an effective and user friendly SIP process.

January 28th 1/2 Day In-Service Planning- Evaluation Forms Due February 4th

As you are planning for the January 28th 1/2 day in-service, make sure to review your school's (and other schools in the District) evaluation feedback summary -->  http://curriculum.risd41.org/documents/11-9-01eval.htm  to help improve the effectiveness of the scheduled activities.  We will again be collecting professional development evaluation information from your staff and a report will be made to the Board of Education.  Please use the same form as last time which can be downloaded at http://curriculum.risd41.org/documents/pd/evaluation.doc .  All evaluation forms are due to our office by Monday, February 4th.  Please submit summary data only (ex: the building average ratings for each category and all plus/delta comments).  Contact me if further clarification is needed.

Professional Development Applications Due By March 15th

As we seek to effectively utilize PD funds, it is necessary that all future professional development applications are received in our office by March 15th, 2002.  After March 15th, any funds not applied for by schools will be redistributed as necessary. All advanced PD planning is greatly appreciated.  PD applications can be downloaded at http://curriculum.risd41.org/admin/professional_development.htm  Thanks for helping us manage our limited PD funds efficiently.

Forms, Budget Codes and Other Paperwork

As of late, there have been many forms and documents sent to our office that have been incomplete for the following reasons:  1.)  No signature, 2.) Insufficient funds in the code requested, 3.) No funding code present, 4.) inaccurate/missing data.  Because of the amount of time it takes to track down these errors, our office will be sending incomplete paperwork or forms back to the originator for corrections. Be sure to carefully review any paperwork before sending it to our office.  Thanks for your help in following the expected procedures.
