Visiting Artist Information Due Today! Thursday, 4-17-03

All school's "Visiting Artist" information is due to the Curriculum Office by the end of the day today.  I will be representing our District at a meeting next week to finalize the visiting artist schedule and I need to have your school's information.  Thanks for your help in getting this information in on time.

ISAT Materials Due To The Warehouse By Tuesday 4-22-03 at 3:00pm

All ISAT materials are due to the warehouse on Tuesday.  Please make sure to follow the packaging instructions exactly as they are written.  Your diligence in this task is most appreciated.  Every year the ISAT office contacts us to locate missing ISAT information.  Let's try to avoid that hassle if we can.

Review "End of Year" Bulletin For Accuracy by Wednesday, 4-23-03

A DRAFT of the end of year bulletin is online at http://curriculum.risd41.org/documents/Bible_for_03-04.doc .  Please review the following pages for accuracy (regarding your school); 2,10,13,14, and 16.  Email me any changes by next Wednesday.  After next Wednesday, we will publish, post and print a few copies for each school.  Thanks for taking the time to verify its accuracy.  Please do not print or circulate copies of this document as it is only a draft at this point.

ISAT School Demographic (Blue Sheets) Information Due By Thursday, April 24th

Please send me your school's demographic sheet- 2003 by Thursday, April 24th.  (This was the white folder of information that was given out at the last principal's meeting)  When calculating this data, be sure to include all of your home school students (including those students who are taking ISAT tests at other schools).  You will not fill out this sheet on behalf of other schools and they will not fill out this sheet on your behalf.  Each school will complete 1 sheet per grade level for all the home school kids (even if they are in programs at other schools).  Please note that this practice is different than how the brown ISAT "school identification sheets" are completed.  Please make a copy of the information and send me the complete folder.  Contact me if you have any questions.

Koalaty Kid Training This Summer- Need Names by April 25th

I (and a few of the Koalaty Kid Facilitators) will be conducting a 5 day Koalaty Kid training series for teachers who have not yet had the training.  The training is scheduled primarily for Lincoln staff, however, I would like to invite all others to join us.  Please let me know if you have any staff who would like to participate in this training.  There is not another full 5 day training session scheduled for next school year- so please take advantage of this opportunity.

 

Koalaty Kid 5 Day Training Schedule

All training will be conducted in Rock Island (location to be announced).  The Office of Instruction and School Improvement will cover the cost of training, including materials, food and pay for teachers.

 

-July 29th 8:30am - 3:30pm (Day 1)

-July 30th 8:30am - 3:30pm (Day 2)

-July 31st 8:30am - 3:30pm (Day 3)

-September 15th -  12:30pm - 4:00pm (Day 4)

-September 18th -  3:15pm - 7:30pm (Day 5)

 

Please share this information with all teachers in your school.  Space is limited.  Contact me by Friday, April 25th with names of interested teachers.

ROE- School Improvement Internal Review Checklist- Due Friday 5-2-03

Please complete your SIP checklist from the ROE that was given to you at the last Principal meeting.  Please keep a copy to include with your SIP in the fall.  This form should be sent to me directly.  I will gather them together and send them all to the ROE.

ROE- SIP Application For Support Mini Grants Due (Send Directly To ROE)

$500.00 available to schools for SIP writing.  The grant application is simple (1 page).  All schools are working on the new template sections 2 and 4 for next year and this would be a great opportunity to pay teachers during the summer.  These applications can be sent directly to the ROE Attn:  Jack Stoudt.  The forms do not need to be sent to me.
