ISAT Testing Updates (TESTING WINDOW IS APRIL 8th - 19th)

An ISAT testing informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2nd at 10:00 am. in room 23 of the Administration Center for all K-8 building principals.  At this meeting, we will review key highlights of the testing coordination manual and will also address any questions or concerns related to ISAT.  Please bring the ISAT coordination manual that you received (and any questions you have) to the meeting on Tuesday.

Academic Intervention Updates...

Guidelines for Compensation-  As discussed in prior meetings, a summation of guidelines for compensation for academic intervention activities are now available online at http://curriculum.risd41.org/admin/intersession/intersession_planning_comm.htm .  This document should help us be consistent across the district.  Please take a few moments to review and contact Dr. Foster or me if you have any questions.

 

Miscellaneous Pay Forms- The Misc. Pay forms that are being turned in to our office do not have information on them as to what to pay for an hourly rate.  It is important for principals to indicate (for certified staff) if the pay is for INSTRUCTIONAL  or NON-INSTRUCTIONAL time (as the pay rate is different).  Miscellaneous pay forms that are not completed accurately will be returned to the building principal and may delay payment to staff.  Please help us out by indicating the budget source code and rate of pay on the forms.  Thanks!

 

Highlights and Information Report-  In the next few weeks, principals will be asked to write a summary of all academic intervention activities that are taking place at your school.  Please begin thinking about highlights to share.  I will send out a form soon to outline the information needed.  This information will be shared with the board of education.

School Improvement Internal Review Update (From the ROE)- Due April 10th to the ROE

You should have received a memo from Jack Stoudt dated March 6th regarding school improvement activities.  Enclosed was a checklist to determine the status of your school improvement and internal review activities.  There was also information about a mini grant to access up to $400 from the ROE for school improvement activities held after school hours.  Please complete the appropriate checklist and send directly to the ROE.  It would be helpful to retain a copy for your records as well.  If you did not receive the memo described above, please contact me and I will send another to you.  According to the memo, these checklists are due by April 10th.

Math/Science Professional Development Funds Available

In reviewing the District Eisenhower (Title II) grant, there are some funds available for math/science professional development conferences yet this year.  Please contact me if you or any of your staff members are interested in accessing these funds.  Funds will be dispersed on a first come-first served basis.
