Koalaty Kid/Koalaty Keys Updates
===================================
Koalaty
Kid Facilitator Training: Koalaty Kid trained
schools have an opportunity for a teacher to be trained as a Koalaty Kid
facilitator for their school. This is an
excellent way to keep PDSA processes and tools momentum going in your school. Both Earl Hanson and Denkmann have a
certified K. K. facilitator already.
Training dates are October 15, 16, November 12,13 and January 28,29.
The curriculum office will cover all costs associated with this
training. I need names of any interested
participants by next Friday, September 20th.
Space is limited so contact me ASAP if interested.
Koalaty
Keys Training Scheduled: Koalaty Key training will begin
for secondary staff on October 7th and 8th.
Congratulations to the first Koalaty Key schools in the Quad City area-
Edison, Washington and TMLC.

02-03 ISAT Data Now Online
===================================
Last week
principals were given a hard copy of the 02-03 RISD ISAT Report. This entire document is now online in Excel
format so that your school can use the data as part of the SIP process. In addition, the ISAT report PowerPoint
presentation that was shared with the Board is also available. Principals may feel free to use any of the data
posted or the PowerPoint presentation.

SIP Summary Updates
===================================
*Continue working on your
building's SIP using whatever format you see necessary (completion of the new
SIP template IS NOT REQUIRED this school year)
*SIPs should be on file at the District office by September 30th... but only the minimum requirements are necessary (data analysis and action plan). If the September 30th deadline is unreasonable for a school, contact me to discuss alternatives.
*Schools could use sections 2 "Strategic Planning" and 4 "Information and Analysis" of new SIP template to meet the minimum requirements for the ROE/ISBE. By exposing your staff now to sections 2 & 4 in the new template, it may save work for the team later in the year as we prepare to write next year's SIP using the new template while at the same time, meeting the ISBE/ROE minimum requirements.
*It is expected that all school will use the new SIP template due September 30th, 2003. (A recommended SIP calendar and PD activities to support this will be provided in the near future to assist SIP teams in the process)

or questions.

Open House Data Needed (no later than 1 week after the open
house)
===================================
Please
use the attached form and submit to me no later than one week after the open
house. To view last year's open house
data, go to http://curriculum.risd41.org/documents/Open_House_Report.htm . It is advised that each building reviews the
plus/delta from last year to improve and implement positive changes to this
year's open house. Please make sure you
have some type of data collection instrument to collect accurate data needed in
the form. Contact me if you have any questions. The 02-03 data collection instrument is
available at http://curriculum.risd41.org/admin/02-03_open_house.doc . Please return the information electronically.
