Academic Excellence Framework
In RISD #41, our mission is to increase the academic performance of all students in all schools. The Academic Excellence Framework (AEF) is our plan to do just that - increase academic achievement for all students. Over the next several months, the Office of Instruction and School Improvement will be communicating with stakeholders on the progress of the AEF. The AEF is a comprehensive plan based on research, best practices and benchmarking of highly effective schools. It provides a 6 pronged approach to continuous improvement. The framework contains key components that will be deployed over the next several years (see below).

The use of curriculum maps
The implementation of performance descriptors at each grade level and exit outcomes that identify performance standards & academic targets
The deployment of in-process measures and assessments that inform instruction
A system of student support; a process of providing behavioral/academic support as needed through prevention, intervention and remediation services
