*Reminder- A few teams were going to meet at 8:00 a.m. to complete the draft alignment revision process. Breakfast snacks and beverages will be available.

*Meeting Objective: To create an evaluation rubric to be applied and used in the science material selection process.

• Review of agenda and overview of today’s activities

Continue revision process of science standards alignment document

· Teams will review the edited curriculum alignment documents and make any additional revisions

Looking ahead at assessments and materials selection…

• Teams will describe a vision of:
• An ideal comprehensive science program
• Informative assessments
• Effective instructional materials

Creating a “materials selection evaluation rubric”

• What parameters or considerations need to be considered when evaluating materials?
• Review of board policy:

ü Policy #2510- adoption of textbooks

ü Policy #2521- selection of instructional materials and equipment

• Inclusion of District goals, vision and core values
• Inclusion of committee’s vision for effective instructional materials
• Committee will create the evaluation rubric to be used when evaluating science materials
• Committee will review and model the process for applying the created rubric

District Curriculum Alignment Cycle

· Teams will provide feedback on the District Curriculum Alignment Cycle draft document
